As we look back on 2018, it’s amazing to see what our HBI team has accomplished in 12 short months! Here’s a quick roundup:

Spotlight Analytics Platform 2.0

Spotlight was given a sleek and easy makeover in 2018 with open source tools. Everywhere we showed it, clients and prospects LOVED the new look! It is now being deployed for all new clients and will be rolled out to existing clients throughout this new year.

Spotlight 2.0 Population Risk Management has some great new capabilities, including rising risk and new diagnosis alerts, disease clusters, geo-mapping and easy outreach list management. Meanwhile new Transitions of Care and Gaps in Care Management tools were also enthusiastically received by the market.

New Models

Our data science team has been busy building new models to address more high cost, high morbidity and high visibility events and conditions. Specifically, we’ve rolled out:

  • Alzheimer’s
  • Cardiac Dysrhythmias
  • Coronary Heart Disease
  • Community Sepsis
  • Hip/Spine Fractures in the Elderly
  • Lung Cancer
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Opioid Abuse
  • Opioid/Narcotic Overdose
  • Spine/Back Disorders
  • Suicide Attempt

New Data

We’ve built our first predictive models using proteomic and metabolomic outputs from mass spectrometry devices, which give insight into cellular processes and metabolic pathways. This is an exciting new area of study. Unlike genomics which studies genes and DNA – essentially the blueprints or instructions for cell activity – studying proteins and metabolites exposes what cells are actually doing. That gives insight into what pathways are healthy, which are dysregulated or modified due to health stresses and informs more personalized corrective actions.

New Partners

We are honored to be partnering with these great companies to deliver predictive analytics across a wider client base:

  • J2 Interactive
  • Johnson & Johnson
  • Koble Group
  • Manifest MedEx
  • Verato

New Research

Consistent with our philosophy of transparency and scientific method, our team has added two new research publications to our library:

Speaking

Meanwhile, our executives and clients were busy sharing their knowledge and experiences at some great conferences, including:

  • InterSystems User Conference
  • HIMSS
  • MESC Conference
  • SHEIC

Recognition

Last, but certainly not least, we were delighted to be included and score very highly as an Advanced Analytics Vendor in KLAS’ first rating of Healthcare Business Intelligence.

Looking ahead in 2019, we are excited about rolling our our new UI to all of our existing clients, feeding new data sources into our machine learning process, deepening integration with partners and clients, expanding our footprint globally and enhancing our consumer engagement platform.
