All of HBI’s light applications are powered by The Spotlight Risk Model Engine which includes the most comprehensive risk models on the market, providing highly accurate and actionable predictive risk scores on populations and patients. HBI’s models use real-time clinical, billing, and claims data, including information from non-discrete data types like discharge summaries or history and physicals. Scores are updated in real-time and improve with each new piece of information added. Clinicians can drill down to see what information is driving the risk scores, giving them the clinical background they need to trust and act on the predictions. Models include both population and admission event based predictions. The Spotlight Risk Model Engine can be purchased as a stand alone product and embedded into an existing EHR, interoperability, or business intelligence solution.
Population based risk models are used by population health managers to understand an individual’s risk of an event in a future 12-month period and include:
- Future cost
- Inpatient admission
- Emergency department visit
- Acute myocardial infarction
- Cerebrovascular accident
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Congestive heart failure
Admission event based risks are triggered by an inpatient admission or an emergency department visit. They are updated in real-time upon admission and show the likelihood of a 30-day readmission for inpatients and a 30-day return to the emergency department for emergency patients.
- 30-day inpatient readmissions
- 30-day emergency department return visit
